Therapy Rooted in Connection, Understanding, and Lasting Change.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with feeling safe, understood, and genuinely connected. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach that helps people better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and experience lasting change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy helps people make sense of the emotions and relationship patterns that keep them feeling stuck. The goal isn’t simply to manage symptoms, but to create deeper emotional connection, greater self-understanding, and healthier, more fulfilling relationships—with yourself and with the people who matter most.
About Kate
Growing up, I always found myself fascinated by family dynamics and why people do what they do. I was deeply curious about people—their stories, the relationships that shape them, and their hopes for change. That curiosity ultimately led me to the field of therapy. For more than 15 years, I’ve walked alongside individuals and couples as they better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
In addition to my work with individuals and couples, I’ve completed advanced training in perinatal mental health and enjoy supporting clients through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum transitions, birth trauma, and pregnancy loss. These experiences can hold both profound joy and deep grief, and I strive to provide a compassionate space where clients feel truly seen, supported, and never alone.
I believe meaningful change begins when people feel safe enough to be fully known, and I love helping clients move toward greater connection—with themselves and with the people they love.
A Little More About Me
Life Outside the Office
When I'm not in the therapy office, you'll usually find me chasing after my two boys, spending time with family, or enjoying the slower pace of life in my hometown of Salisbury. Returning home after many years in Charlotte has been a meaningful full-circle experience, and I'm grateful to serve the community that helped shape me.
Like many of my clients, I've experienced seasons of change that have been both challenging and transformative. Those experiences have deepened my empathy and continue to shape the way I show up for my clients—with compassion, authenticity, and hope.
